This is the way script page 9 ended up in the finished film. During the improvisational rehearsal process, we all decided that a more emotional scene was called for inside the subway station than what we had originally scripted. The second little piece of that scene, inside the subway car, wasn’t scripted at all.

The subway scene was shot guerrilla-style during off-peak hours at the Canal Street subway station in Manhattan’s Chinatown.

The intervening scene is part of the alternate story line in Brooklyn/Queens. The transition with two passing trains wasn’t scripted, but was inspired by the location.
